Vicky Stanton / Broadcaster
Vicky enjoys guest hosting from time to time for TE Wolfe on A Word in Edgewise, and she also hosts the occasional Red Eye Radio show.
Raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, Vicky immigrated to the U.S. in 1980, landing in Los Angeles, where she spent the next 33 years. She moved to Nevada City in the summer of 2013, where she continues to enjoy feeling dirt under her feet every day, a luxury not afforded her in LA. Vicky retired from her job as a school psychologist with the Nevada Joint Union High School District in June 2020. Hanging out with teens was one of the greatest privileges she could ever have wished for. With her newly found daylight hours to fill, she is working on recording shows for A Word in Edgewise and honing her very rusty writing skills.
Musical milestones for Vicky include her first concert (one-hit-wonder-in-the-UK Peter Sarstedt) at the age of 14 and turning 40 at midnight at a Rolling Stones concert.
Vicky has been part of the KVMR community since 2006, when she first began listening online, and is delighted to be participating more fully now she is living with her partner (also a KVMR broadcaster) in Nevada City. She has two grown sons, one in NYC and the other in Nashville.
