Nora Nausbaum’s lifelong music passion was fostered by her father and flute lessons early on. She plays flute professionally, mostly jazz at this point. Nora grew up in New York, got music degrees and taught music in colleges in the heartland before coming to California. She and her husband, Bill Douglass, run Sierra Jazz Society and annual Jazz Camp in Nevada County. Nora is also an Alexander Technique teacher and credits her understanding in this area with her continuing ability to play flute and grow. Her KVMR show, Jazz Workshop, features her favorites, mostly mellow with a few out there tunes. The show highlights jazz giants, jazz women, vocals, instrumentals and jazz classics.
