Melissa Ann Seibold
Melissa Seibold joined the KVMR staff in April 2015 with a breadth of experiences to bolster her efforts and connections as the Underwriting Account Executive at KVMR. Community-minded, with a natural disposition towards service, Melissa loves to work hard for the causes and passions that feed and inspire her. Community means everything to her. She began listening to KVMR online from Chapel Hill, NC in 2003. And now KVMR is the heart of her Community here in Nevada City.
Melissa grew up in the Midwest where cold, harsh winters breed endurance, determination and unstop-ability. She lived in Oshkosh, Wisconsin until she was 18 and then moved to Milwaukee, where she acquired a Mass Communications degree from the UW-Milwaukee. For nearly a decade Melissa was a central player in the local Milwaukee music scene, as her love of live, original music (roots-rock, alternative country, sexy-bluesy garage rock, pop, etc. etc. etc.) brought her to manage, book, publicize and over-all champion up-coming local artists (Alex Ballard & Sugarfoot the dearest to her heart still). She was publicist for seminal record label Don’t Records and did entertainment & festival production, music marketing, special events and product sponsorship execution for Summerfest and GMR Marketing/Miller Brewing Company.
Before arriving to Nevada City in April of 2005 to raise her son in one of the most beautiful counties in Northern California, Melissa spent five years in Chapel Hill, NC where she learned a variety of massage therapy modalities and continued to follow her passion of supporting local music. She established her home, Tilty Farm, as music venue by converting her barn into one of the coolest outdoor venues west-of-Carrboro, in which she held day-long rock & roll benefit shows for local causes. There she had the honor of booking her most-favorite bands and friends, of which many with national successes and ties.
Today, Melissa thoroughly enjoys being in nature, nurturing her friendships, tending to her flowers and garden, reading and volunteering for local organizations (SYRCL, Full-Circle Learning, United Way, Divine Spark, YRCS). She is a huge advocate for Waldorf education, as she recently enjoyed a lengthy and successful career at Yuba River Charter School, as Development Director and Enrollment Coordinator.
Her son, Aiden Kennedy Cook, is her pride and joy, and the most important reason for being and living with compassion, kindness, integrity and a sense-of-humor.
You can also find Melissa on occasion at Three Forks Bakery & Brewing Company or Polly’s Paladar, both in Nevada City. At Polly’s she is one of the regular, playful, highly-spirited servers who might just have more fun than the guests who attend the splendid and unique monthly Paladar events.
Melissa looks forward to seeing you around town! And will definitely say “Hello!”
