My musical journey started in Bakersfield, Ca in 1955. One of my earliest memories growing up was listening to Buck Owens, Meryl Haggard, and Rose Maddox, all purveyors of that Bakersfield Sound. I spent my formative years in the Bay Area, graduating from Amador High School in Pleasanton, Ca in 1973, all while listening to and enjoying all the music that the 60’s and 70’s had to offer. During this time I discovered KFAT Radio which provided a direction that my music tastes would follow. My job at AT&T brought me to the Sacramento Area in the early 80’s where we bought our first home in Roseville and raised my three kids. To my delight I discovered Rick Snelson in the early years of his Hard Country Program which was my first introduction to KVMR.  Soon after I discovered Eric Rice and The County Line Bluegrass Show and I was invited to Co-Host the Show with Eric for a time in the Mid 80’s. Also hosting my own show, That High Lonesome Sound. I was lucky to be a part of the first live remote broadcast of the CBA Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival and all of those to follow to the present day. I am looking forward to this new chapter here at KVMR. KVMR is like a family to me and it’s an honor to be a part of the World’s Greatest Radio Station.
