I’ve been a supporter of public radio for as long as I can remember. I love discovering little known artists and sharing them with you on the radio . ( International Cafe can be heard on the second Sunday of the month 12noon -1 pm) I believe that Introducing unfamiliar genres makes the connects us and makes the world a more friendly place. Music communicates to us in all languages. Probably the most unusual artist I’ve brought to the radio is Moondog. Look him up on you tube or the net! Both his music and story are fascinating.
Historically women didn’t produce radio or become DJ’s . So much has changed, but sometimes women still choose to work in community .That’s what the Women’s collective offers. I’m proud to be a member of this group at the station bringing you “music and spoken word by women, about women, for everyone.”
