Maren Metke: Talking with Children

Air date:
Tuesday, January 22, 2019

After engaging Maren Metke in a public conversation on talking with kids, host Arly Helm invited her to come on air and share some of her tools for better conversation, including approaches from Non-Violent Communication (NVC), an approach developed by Marshall Rosenberg.

Maren Metke is an artist, mother, healer, and musician who resides in the Sierra foothills and works, remotely, locally and in the Bay Area. During the summer you might find her on tour with her band or running NVC Family Camps across the west coast.

She splits her time between being a musician (vocalist & multi-instrumentalist, co-founder of Honey of the Heart), and seeing clients, integrating multiple healing modalities including NVC/Compassionate Communication (20 years immersive experience) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (MaNLP 10 years of practice) to individuals of all ages, couples, and groups.

She also has over two decades of experience in holistic, alternative, individuated education and community building, having started and run multiple holistic elementary schools. Maren has been working with children and fascinated by human development since she was a child herself.
