Free Food & Supplies: Mutual Aid Networking
August 22 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, repeating until August 29, 2020
The Nevada County Left Coalition is distributing free food and supplies while building its mutual aid network in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic downturn. Mutual aid groups are member-led, member-organized, and open to all participants. In partnering with the community and providing aid to those in need, NCLC aims to alleviate immediate hardships while forging lasting connections, uniting people based on common needs and neighborly goodwill.
Join NCLC every Saturday (observing masks and distancing measures) at the Dow Alexander Memorial Park (just across the highway from the Grass Valley Post Office) from 10am to 12pm. Free food (both ready-to-eat and uncooked), hand sanitizer, masks and many other goods will be provided while supplies last.
The Nevada County Left Coalition states, “When we help the people who make up our community, and are willing to receive help in kind, we create a healthier community together: that’s what mutual aid is all about. Come down, ask about our book discussion groups and leadership programs, and let’s build a big mutual aid network together. If you have services or goods you would like to provide to the network, feel free to reach out to us at email@example.com, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.”
