Big Thief is an indie rock band based in Brooklyn, New York. The band's first album, Masterpiece, was released on Saddle Creek Records on May 27, 2016

Masterpiece received generally favorable reviews from critics; it has a rating of 79/100 on Metacritic, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Bob Boilen wrote for NPR that Big Thief was "a band bound by great songs," and called the title track of Masterpiece "one of the best songs I've heard this year."

Deerhoof is an American experimental rock band whose erratic style veers between noise pop, punk rock, and avant-garde. The band's live shows are known for their minimal gear, maximal volume, and surrealist banter. Since their formation in 1994 in San Francisco they have self-produced their records and self-managed their career.

Deerhoof are an often-cited musical influence on other artists, notably St. Vincent, Foo Fighters, Dirty Projectors,Stereolab, Sleigh Bells, and of Montreal. Deerhoof's songs are covered often by other artists (notably Phil Lesh, Los Campesinos!, Marco Benevento, David Bazan, and classical composer Marcos Balter.

In April 2016, Deerhoof announced The Magic, its first studio album since their 2014 La Isla Bonita.
