Welcome to "Liquid Mind," immediately following Dead Air this Saturday March 2 from 10 pm to Midnight. Consciousness expanding music that lends itself to relaxation as well as careful listening; music that blends exquisite jams, experimentation, superb vocal performances, and beautiful harmonies, drawn primarily from the psychedelic, soft blues, moody jazz and acoustic folk genres. The program will also feature interesting covers of well-known tracks that provide a whole different listening experience of songs previously thought to be familiar. Live performances and jams will be favored over standard studio recordings. Talking will be limited to a brief comment or an interesting note about the music.
My goal is to provide the listener with a transition from the Grateful Dead to a blend of relaxed, soulful and flowing music from different genres: I hope that, at least once during the show, you will think to yourself: "wow, those tracks really go together, they have a flow to them, "wow, what was that song?" or "who is that artist?" I have listened to Dead Air for more than 20 years now and, while I absolutely love the show, I appreciate the need for a mood-softening and mind-expanding follow up. Nothing shrill, loud or bombastic will be played and no news of a negative nature will intrude. Think of my show as the melodic equivalent of a soft pillow on which to rest your weary head and body, gliding you gently into dreamland while riding a wave of exquisite musical artistry.
