While living in the Sacramento area, Diane became a fan of KVMR years before moving to Nevada City in 2006. Her son first told her about the station and thought she might like what was being played. It was an immediate YES! She has been a fan of the station ever since.
Diane is a firm supporter of independent media and community radio. The variety of programming and music genres cannot be heard elsewhere. She feels it is so important to allow many voices to be heard on the air and that is just what she found at KVMR.
In 2011 she became interested in broadcasting and contacted the station about the next training class. Shortly thereafter in 2012, little did she know, but she would become completely immersed in KVMR as the Owners’ Representative for KVMR ‘s new home being to be constructed in collaboration with the Nevada Theatre on the corner of Bridge and Spring Streets in downtown Nevada City. A general contractor, architectural designer and project manager by trade, she feels truly honored to represent KVMR in the building of their new home.
Now a certified broadcaster, Diane is a member of the Women’s Collective and rotates with other members of the Collective to broadcast The Women’s Show.
