Grass Valley Vet's Hall, 6/6/2005 2-CD Set
November 23 2005 Michael Franti and Spearhead performed in New Folsom Prison Chapel, that became a Historical National Broadcast on KVMR. That day, Michael Franti offered his support to Rob Allbee, Director of Inside Circle, in the form of the "See You In The Light." an acoustic concert headlining Michael Franti with special guests Carl Young and Issac James, June 30 2006 at the Grass Valley Vet's Hall. Produced by Cheri Snook of Open Door Productions, the 7-hour production included two time Grammy Winner, Mary Youngblood, Alaska Singer Songwriter Melissa Mitchell, the Earth Rhythm Dancers and our local gem, Kimberly Bass to open the show with her Crystal Bowl ceremony.
The extravaganza included a silent auction, a display of prison artists work, a large screen presentation of poets and voices of those inside. With the unforgettable Poem by Rob Allbee "cry," seen on www.insidecircle.org
The Inside Circle Foundation (ICF) exists to assist prison convicts in maximum-security prisons with taking behavioral, emotional and spiritual responsibility for their lives. ICF, a not-for-profit organization created by convicts and citizens, conduct weekly circles and occasional "weekend intensives," in the prison chapel where prisoners can safely work through and explore the issues that have prevented them from living up to their full potential as human beings. The immediate goal is a reduction of prison violence and lower recidivism when inmates parole. The long term goal is to let these men heal, and achieve meaningful lives.

Lester R. Brown has been described by the Washington Post as "one of the world's most influential thinkers." The Telegraph of Calcutta called him "the guru of the global environmental movement." In May 2001, he founded Earth Policy Institute, where he now serves as president. The purpose of the Earth Policy Institute is to provide a vision of an environmentally sustainable economy, a roadmap of how to get from here to there - as well as an ongoing assessment of progress.
