Since its first show in April of 1990, Rockin'-N- Stompin' has been committed to presenting a diverse Americana roots music format. Inspired by the free form programming of K-FAT radio, Gilroy, CA, "FAT Music" was the label used to describe a format that mixes country, bluegrass, acoustic, folk, roots rock, neo-rockabiliy blues with a strong emphasis on singer songwriters (especially from Texas). Since the mid-90s, Americana has become the music industry's label for this broad body of music.
Some Americana shows focus on limited genres within the American spectrum, but Rockin'-N-Stompin is dedicated to showcasing the broad range of connected styles and pushing the envelopes is part of the fun of Americana programming.
