Jess Lamar Reece Holler was born & raised by tornadoes in the cornfields of north-central ohio. She comes to kvmr with a banjo on her knee, straight from the wildly free-form archives of WSRN 91.5 fm, Swarthmore College’s “fiercely independent!” radio, where she chaired the folk/country & western department & generally tried to make everyone listen to more rockabilly.  She’s deeply in love with the landscape of historic american sound, from swamp pop to buddy holly, from tanya tucker to those dear ol’ 78rpms. She loves the snap, crackle & hiss (the sound of history itself!) most of all – so, yes: that static is intentional!
