"This music is meant for dancing, it invigorates your whole being, and I want to expose a big chunk of 'foreigners' to it!" Dale explains.
Dale started broadcasting at KVMR in 1995. A "self-adopted" Cajun, taking the name "Le Blanc" -- meaning "the white" guy playing the music of French-speaking Cajuns and Creoles of Southwest Louisiana. He discovered this music in the late 1980's and, since leaving the world of work in 1993, has immersed himself in their music in a major way.
Dale frequently travels to South West Louisiana, and elsewhere, to attend Cajun/Zydeco music and cultural festivals. He says "When you think Cajun, Zydeco, Creole and swamp pop music -- do not think of New Orleans, but think Lafayette (Cajun French pronunciation, "Lah - FAH - yeht" ) -- the center of the twenty-three predominately French-speaking parishes of Louisiana."
