I've always loved listening to music, from the first AM transistor radio my Uncle gave me, to the digital radios of today. I like lyrics..... and songs that let you hear them. I like the offbeat songs, humorous, satirical, and serious; singer/songwriters, Americana, folk, comedy, bluegrass, zydeco/Cajun, western swing, instrumentals and...more.

I've always been a cowboy at heart, and love songs of the West. I'm a member of the Western Folk Life Center and have attended the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada for the past nineteen years. I lived in Santa Cruz, Ca. and was a loyal KFAT listener.

When I moved to the Sacramento area in 1980, I found KUOP in Stockton that played my kind of music on Saturdays (Prairie Fires and Paper Moons), and then found KVMR... I am a longtime listener and member, and always wanted to take the broadcasters class, but couldn't fit it into my life until 2007. I trained with Wesley Robertson on Rockin' and Stompin' and had been doing Redeye shows and filling in for other broadcasters until the Tuesday morning slot opened and I took the opportunity.
