Beverly Klingsick at the micBev Klingsick has somehow managed to be involved in music all her life. It started with the usual "piano lessons-school orchestra-choir-musicals" syndrome experienced by many an average school kid way back when. But that involvement escalated exponentially once Bev moved to Southern California.

She saw an ad in the L.A. Times about a songwriting class sponsored by Sherman Oaks Experimental College, and that really was the beginning of the beginning. Bev proceeded to take weekend and night classes in every subject possible regarding the music industry for the next five years, and was in fact among the first students for such studies at UCLA. She was a sponge; but knew she had to get inside of the business to really experience it.

Bev quit a secure and lucrative job, and took the temporary position of "Floating Receptionist" at CBS Records (a mental image that still makes her laugh!). She went on to work in varying capacities at CBS, Motown, and MCA Records, do a brief stint at Kendun Recording Studios, and eventually become Sales Manager at Abbey Road Distributors - one of the largest one-stops at the time, selling all music in print to record stores all over the United States.

In 1993, Bev and her husband, Dennis, decided they were tired of the Southern California lifestyle and pace, so they literally got in their car with a map, only to discover Nevada County.

One of Bev's new friends, Caron Vikre, was getting airplay on Joseph's morning show, so Bev tuned in to KVMR and she has not stopped listening ever since. She became convinced that KVMR is a little gem right here in her own back yard, and decided she was interested in getting involved. Out of sheer curiosity, Bev applied to take the 2001 Broadcasters' Training Class, and is now shocked to find herself actually on the air! Her fondness for KVMR has only grown these past few years, and she is very proud to be a tiny part of it.

Bev feels that music is one of the most powerful and empowering human experiences. Her lifelong involvement with music speaks her mantra: "If you're too busy for music, you're just too busy!"
