Damien Jurado - Visions of Us on the Land- Secretly Canadian

Damien Jurado is an American indie rock singer/songwriter from Seattle, Washington. Over the years, he has released albums on many labels; today, his primary label is Secretly Canadian.

No doubt that Visions of Us on the Land is a crowning representation of Jurado’s grand ambition, epitomized by the fact that it’s the final chapter of a trilogy that also includes 2012’s Maraqopa and 2014’s Brothers And Sisters Of The Eternal Son. But though the collab with Swift has resulted in easily Jurado’s most fascinating records as a songwriter, the wide-open road might be a little too inviting at times—because occasionally you need to consult a map for fear of driving off the end of the Earth.

White Denim - Stiff

White Denim - Stiff - Downtown Records

White Denim is a four-piece rock band from Austin, Texas. Their music is influenced by dub, psychedelic rock, blues, punk rock, progressive rock, soul, jazz, experimental rock with home-based recording, jamming approach, intense looping work and unusual song structures.

Recorded with Ethan Johns (Kings Of Leon, The Vaccines), it infuses an overt Doobie Brothers influence with the intoxicating whiff of Castrol GTX. It’s the sound of the ’70s man… smoking in the car, untethered from the prescriptive menace of the seatbelt, rolling along the M25 singing his head off to Peter Frampton.
