Stand Up for Public Media!

In 1967, Congress passed the Public Broadcasting Act, with a specific goal of bringing quality media to all citizens of the U.S.  Over the past 50 years, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has distributed federal funds to non-profit radio and television stations and has succeeded in expanding critical media accessibility to 98% of the country.  The United States has a long history of providing infrastructure to rural areas to allow them to benefit from the same level of services as urban centers, including instructional, educational and cultural programs such as those offered by
