How'd you like to play an active role in what you hear on KVMR? Maybe this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you.
Yes, KVMR's Program Committee is looking for several community representatives. As a member of the PC, you'll help evaluate what you hear on air and offer community suggestions to broadcasters on ways they can improve their show and service to our listeners.
Plus you'll advise the Program Director on show openings, listen to broadcaster submissions and help determine how open time slots get filled.
And you'll become an important part of KVMR's Schedule Review process when we make changes to our on-air schedule (this year!) in hopes of improving our station's sound and service to our listeners. While we haven't been able to stretch each day's 24 hours into 30 (wouldn't that be nifty?), you'll be there when we examine what works, what maybe doesn't and what we should be doing in years ahead in terms of programming.
It's an important position, and we're seeking KVMR listeners with vision, sensibility, purpose, plus some extra savvy thrown in. You'll help represent community ears and interests on the committee, working with the four elected broadcasters on the PC. If you've got an open mind, a love for KVMR, a desire to see this station achieve all it can be, and time to listen and meet on programming issues, this could be a perfect fit for you.
For more information, email program @ kvmr.org or call the station at 265-9073, extension 211.
It could just be the radio adventure of your life, and you''ll be playing as vital a role as those behind the mikes.
Thanks for your consideration.
